About Molinard

In the heart of Grasse, the world's perfume capital, stands a beacon of olfactory artistry that has defied time—Molinard.

Established in 1849 by Hyacinthe Molinard, this venerable house began its journey crafting delicate floral waters and Eaux de Cologne, captivating a clientele that included none other than Queen Victoria.

By 1900, Molinard had expanded into a distinguished factory, its distillery's metalwork masterfully designed by Gustave Eiffel, the visionary behind Paris's iconic tower. This era marked collaborations with illustrious glassmakers like René Lalique and Baccarat, resulting in perfume bottles that were as much masterpieces as the fragrances they encased.

The roaring 1920s witnessed the birth of Habanita, a revolutionary scent that introduced vetiver—a note traditionally reserved for men—into women's perfumery, symbolizing the bold spirit of the era's emancipated women.

Today, under the stewardship of Célia Lerouge-Bénard, the fifth generation and first female leader, Molinard continues to blend tradition with innovation. The house offers immersive workshops, inviting enthusiasts to delve into the art of perfume creation. With a legacy spanning over 170 years, Molinard remains a testament to enduring craftsmanship and the timeless allure of scent.

About Habanita

Smells like a whispered rebellion — smoke, rose, and velvet darkness.

Habanita isn’t just a perfume — it’s a legend. Born in 1921 and still turning heads, this is the scent that broke the rules and rewrote the script. Tobacco in a woman’s fragrance? Unheard of. Until Habanita made it iconic.

It opens with a sharp, elegant lift — geranium, petitgrain, and orange, like the first spark before the fire. Then the heart blooms: rose, jasmine, and heliotrope swirl together in a dark, velvety floral haze — both powdery and provocative.

But the soul of Habanita lives in the drydown: a seductive trail of vanilla, amber, vetiver, and musk. It’s smoky, rich, and addictive — like lipstick on leather or the memory of a forbidden night. Feminine, yes — but never soft.

What’s In It For You:

  • An iconic oriental blend with history, heat, and haunting elegance
  • Powerful projection and longevity — this is a true statement scent
  • For lovers of vintage drama, bold femininity, and timeless edge

Wear it when:
You want to own the room. When you’re feeling dangerous in the best way. Or when you want your perfume to wear like red lips and a secret smile.
